I love cnn.com, they can come up with some of he most bizzare stuff for the average bored individual IT Admin to read when he has 10 minutes of down time. Reported on CNN.com readmore Pennsylvania has flammable drinking water these days.
It seems that energy companies have come up with yet another way to increase the profit range of their corporations. We all know the energy companies need more profit now don’t we? They can now pump water, sand and chemicals under high pressure into the shale formations around 8000 feet deep and fracture those shale layers to let the gases escape and be harvested. That’s all well and fine, but a lot of these shale formations contain the water tables that provide the drinking water for communities.
Now you can get a combination of water and methane out of your tap!, sort of like your bathroom isn’t it? Not to worry however about the energy producers, I’ll bet they have already figured an increase on the water bills to cover the unintentional theft of the methane gases people are tapping off of them. After all those energy companies need the additional profit now, we have to protect them now don’t we.
However the EPA is now doing a study on the “potential effects on the underground water table, public health and the environment” Eh? Doing a study, like the one on Bed Bugs in Cincinnati today. Oh we get it, you study this for years, and when all of the water in the United States smells like the day after a bean day then we can spend trillions of dollars just fixing it. Part of the Economic Recovery. My high School dropout dad from WWII would have just said ” Stop it”
Man I can just hear Starbuck now………….. “We’re really fracked now” , or better yet Admiral Adomma with his ” I don’t want to hear this fracking stuff“.
God Bless America, the home of the Brave and land of the Fracked!
And also reported in the news today, again on CNN.com readmore it appears the August job report is out, and there are signs of life for employment? I guess this proves life after death exists because in the same article they report that Government jobs are continuing to lay off at an alarming rate as State and local Governments continue to trim budgets. According to the charts we lost 121,00 jobs in august but gained 67,000 and that’s good news?
